WHO IT’S FOR

Who residential pool heating is for

If you own a pool in Adelaide, you’ve probably had the same realisation: the swimming season is short, and even then the water’s only comfortable for part of the day. Heating fixes that.

This page is for you if you:

Want more swim time

You’ve invested in a pool but only get to use it around 3 months a year. Solar typically adds 7 to 8 months; a heat pump 7 to 8 months, or year-round if sized correctly.

Own an old or failed system

Inherited a non-working system, or a 20-year-old setup that’s seen better days? Most existing pools can be retrofitted with a new system.

Have kids who swim daily

Heating makes the difference between a pool that gets used a few times a season and one that gets used every day. The cost is offset many times over by actual use.

Are building a new pool

Talk to us early. Coordinating heating with the pool build (timing, plumbing connections, controller placement) is easier than retrofitting later.

Not sure which system suits your home?

Solar, heat pump, or both

Solar is the most cost effective way to heat your pool provided you have adequate, non-shaded roof space. Heat pumps are a great option if roof space is limited, or if you have solar PV. Many customers run both: solar carries the load whenever there’s sun, the heat pump tops up on cool days.

Handy? Consider a DIY kit

Same Zane product we install professionally, supplied as a complete kit in five sizes, shipped Australia-wide, with phone and email support during your install.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

What every Residential Install includes

Whichever system suits your pool, the scope is the same: sized properly, installed by our own team, supported for life.

Sized to your pool, not a template

Collector area roughly equal to your pool’s surface area for solar; heat pumps sized to pool volume and target temperature. Most family pools (40 to 60kL) suit a 13 to 17kW unit.

In-house installation

Our own team, no subcontractors. Single-day install for most metro solar; half a day for most heat pumps.

Electrical coordinated

Where a heat pump needs electrical work, we coordinate a licensed electrician and include it in the fixed-price quote.

Supported for life

48 to 72 hour metro service response, Zane and Guardian parts in stock at Beverley, warranties handled in-house.

The pool isn’t drained and disruption is minimal. Filtration is only briefly interrupted during connection.

For new pools under construction, we coordinate timing with your pool builder.

THE PROCESS

Our Solar Installation Process

Every Beasley solar pool heating installation follows the same process. The whole thing typically runs 1 to 3 weeks from initial enquiry to a warm pool, depending on quote scheduling and your timing.

Enquiry and initial assessment: Online form or phone call. Pool size, location, roof type. Takes about two minutes. We'll answer any questions you have.

Free onsite consultation if required:

We come to you. Given our experience, we can build the majority of quotes from aerial photography and a few photos of your pool equipment sent via email. Depending on the complexity of your install, and only if it's needed, we'll schedule a site visit and discuss your goals.

Detailed written quote:

Within 1 to 2 business days of the consultation, we'll provide a fixed-price and itemised quote. Includes collector area, PC5 Solar Controller, sensors, plumbing and labour.

Installation:

We'll typically complete this within 1 day of accepting your quote for metro residential jobs. Always by our own team. Single-day install for most residential systems. We schedule around your availability and aim for minimal disruption to your home.

Commissioning and handover:

We start the system, set the controller, walk you through how it operates, and leave you with documentation. From this point forward, the system runs itself.

"This new system works 100 times better than what I had before! Definitely recommend their service!"

WHAT DRIVES THE COST?

What Does Solar Pool Heating Cost in Adelaide?

We can't give you an accurate price without seeing the roof, there are too many variables that affect the final number, but here's what drives the cost so you understand the quote when you get it.

residential-pool-heating-09-cost-collector-area Large.jpeg

Collector Area

The biggest single driver. Roughly equal to your pool's surface area (for example, 40sqm for a 10m x 4m pool). A south-facing roof usually needs an extra 20 to 35% to compensate.
residential-pool-heating-10-cost-roof-complexity Large.jpeg

Roof Complexity

Tile vs Colorbond, single-storey vs double-storey, pitch and access. All affect install time and any additional works.
residential-pool-heating-11-cost-plumbing-run Large.jpeg

Plumbing Run

The distance between the pool equipment and the collectors, and whether the filtration needs replumbing. The majority of installs also need a booster pump to help feed the collectors.
residential-pool-heating-12-cost-system-options Large.jpeg

System Options

Industry-leading Zane Gulfstream vs premium Gulfpanel. Different collector types suit different priorities. Do you need flexibility to work around skylights and roof contours? Do you need wildlife and vermin protection (especially from cockatoos)? Do you need the extra 20% efficiency because of roof constraints?
residential-pool-heating-13-cost-commercial-vs-residential Large.jpeg

Commercial vs Residential

Commercial installs are scoped individually and are typically designed on a case-by-case basis.

What we'll never do: Quote a fixed price over the phone or add hidden costs after we're done.

We'll always do our best to foresee all costs and price you accordingly. We'll also never push you toward a more expensive system without explaining why it's recommended for your situation. We're here to help you.

WE HAVE THE ANSWERS

Solar Pool Heating FAQs

  • Cost depends on your pool's surface area and the corresponding collector area you'll need. As a guide, a 10m x 4m pool needs roughly 40sqm of solar collectors plus controller, plumbing and installation. Beasley provides free fixed-price quotes, so call (08) 8349 4333 or request one online.

  • A correctly sized solar pool heating system in Adelaide typically raises pool temperature by 6 to 10°C above what the pool would naturally reach. In practice, that means a comfortable swim from late September through to early April rather than just December to February.

  • Solar pool heating works whenever the sun is on the roof. In Adelaide's winter, output drops significantly. If you want year-round swimming, you'll need a heat pump or a hybrid solar and heat pump system.

  • Zane solar pool heating systems are installed successfully on tile, Colorbond, metal deck and most other common roof types in South Australia. We assess your specific roof before recommending the install.

  • Just your existing pool pump (or a small booster pump on some systems). There's no additional energy used to heat the water, that's free, from the sun. Most owners see a marginal increase in pump-related electricity use, which is easily offset by the pool heating delivered.

  • Zane TPR collectors have a design life of up to 25 years and we routinely service systems we installed in the late 1990s. Like any outdoor product, lifespan depends on conditions. Coastal salt air or extreme hail can shorten it, but most systems comfortably reach 20 years or more.

  • Yes. We supply Zane Gulfstream DIY kits in five sizes for hands-on owners. The kit comes with all the equipment you need plus full installation instructions. Our team is available by phone and email during your install.
