THE PERFECT POOL HEATING SOLUTION
Pool Heat Pumps in Adelaide, Authorised Guardian Dealer
A pool heat pump extracts heat from ambient air and transfers it into your pool. It's the same technology as a reverse-cycle air conditioner, applied to pool water. The result is reliable heating in any weather, including through Adelaide's winter, from a compact unit beside your equipment pad.
Beasley Pool Heating is South Australia's authorised Guardian dealer, supplying their full inverter range from the everyday Eco Pro through to the premium Lux V, all installed and serviced by our own team since 1979.

IS A POOL HEAT PUMP RIGHT FOR YOU?
When A Pool Heat Pump Makes Sense
Heat pumps aren't always the obvious first choice for an Adelaide pool. Solar is cheaper to run, and plenty of pools suit solar. But heat pumps are the right answer in a few specific situations.
A pool heat pump is the right choice if you:
Don't have suitable roof for solar
Not enough roof space, fully shaded, or structural concerns (eg polycarbonate roofing or soft terracotta tiles). A heat pump sits at ground level and needs no roof.

Have rooftop solar PV already
If you have electricity-generating solar PV on your roof, running a heat pump during daylight hours is essentially free, using excess generation that would otherwise export to the grid for minimal feed-in.
Want to swim year-round
Solar can't carry an Adelaide pool through June to August. An appropriately sized heat pump can, even when ambient air temperatures are down to around 5°C.
Want precise temperature control
Heat pumps let you set and forget a target temperature. Solar adds heat when there's sun; heat pumps maintain temperature regardless.

GOT A QUESTION ABOUT YOUR PUMP?
Pool Heat Pump FAQs
Running cost depends on the unit's size and efficiency, your pool size, your set temperature, and how often you swim. As a rough guide, an appropriately sized heat pump on a covered residential pool typically costs $30 to $80 per week to maintain a comfortable swimming temperature in the swimming season, and more in winter.
Yes, and that's the main advantage over solar. Modern inverter pool heat pumps continue to extract heat from the ambient air down to around 5°C. Output drops as the air gets colder, but if sized correctly, they will keep a covered pool at swimming temperature through an Adelaide winter.
Initial heat-up depends on water volume, starting temperature, and heat pump output. As a guide, a 50kL pool with a 17kW heat pump and a thermal cover typically heats from ambient cold temperature to 28°C over 1 to 3 days. During that period the heat pump runs at full capacity. Once the pool is at temperature, it only runs to maintain the heat.
Beside your pool equipment pad, typically near the existing pool pump and filter. The unit needs clear airflow space and access to power. We will assess the location and have air discharge deflectors available if required.
Most of the larger units will. Smaller units run on standard single-phase 240V; larger units may need a dedicated circuit or three-phase supply. We'll confirm during the quote and coordinate with our in-house licensed electrician (or yours) on what's required.
Guardian heat pumps have a service life of up to 15 years if well-maintained. The main factors in longevity are routine servicing, water chemistry, and protection from coastal salt air on coastal installs.
Yes, and many of our customers do. Running a heat pump during daylight hours from your home's solar PV system can dramatically reduce or eliminate running costs.
