HEAT PUMP INSTALLATION
Pool Heat Pump Installation in Adelaide: What’s Actually Involved
Pool heat pump installation by Beasley typically takes half a day for a standard metro Adelaide residential job, including plumbing, electrical coordination, controller setup and commissioning. Larger units, three-phase electrical work, or commercial installs are scoped individually.
As authorised Guardian dealers in South Australia and Northern Territory, our in-house team handles every install personally. We coordinate with licensed electricians where required, and strive to offer ongoing servicing callouts within 48 to 72 hours for the full life of the system.

INSTALL DAY
What happens on installation day
A standard metro residential heat pump install typically runs as a half-day visit. Here’s exactly what happens.
Arrival and site setup (30 minutes)
Our team arrives in a marked Beasley van. We confirm placement with you, set up tools, lay protective drop sheets if needed, and brief you on what to expect.
Unit positioning (30 minutes to 2 hours)
Heat pump positioned on the prepared pad, wall or roof mount. All necessary factors considered and accounted for: access, ground levelling, noise, air discharge clearances and direction.
Plumbing connection (1 to 2 hours)
Connection into your existing pool filtration system. Pool filtration is briefly interrupted but the pool isn’t drained.
Electrical work (1 hour)
A licensed electrician handles the electrical connection, coordinated as part of the install. Straightforward single-phase installs happen during the same visit; a new feed from the switchboard or more complex switchboard work may be a separate scheduled visit.
Commissioning, handover and cleanup (30 minutes)
We start the system, program the controller to target temperature, verify output, check for leaks and run an initial heating cycle. Site cleaned, packaging removed, final walk-through, operation manual handed over, and we’re done.

FAQS
Installation FAQs
No. Heat pump installation doesn’t require draining the pool. Pool circulation is briefly interrupted during plumbing connection, but the pool stays full.
Minimal. Most installs are completed in half a day with limited noise and no major disruption to your home or pool use. The only real impact is brief pool circulation interruption.
For commissioning and walkthrough, most owners want to be present so they understand how the system operates. However, as long as we have access, you do not need to be home for the install.
We assess switchboard capacity during the quote. If upgrade work is required, we coordinate it with a licensed electrician and include it in the fixed-price quote, no surprises.
Yes, we install heat pumps year-round. Winter can sometimes be preferred in preparation for the next swimming season.
Yes, most certainly. We offer supply only and can supply all necessary components required for your install. Give us a call to discuss the best way to connect your heat pump DIY. For most units, a licensed electrician is still required.
Most prep is on us, but a few things help: clear access to the install area, move anything fragile nearby, make sure your switchboard is accessible if electrical work is in scope, have your pool chemistry balanced before commissioning, flag any concerns (neighbour proximity, noise sensitivity, positioning preferences) before install day, and ideally be home for the commissioning walkthrough. If you can’t be, we’ll arrange a remote handover.

Keep Up the Great Work Guys
"Five stars for Henry and his team. They were great right from the process of provide quote (best price), site visit, equipment installation (modified their standard process to suit my property’s requirements at no extra cost) and, more importantly providing prompt after sales-service.
Everyone was punctual, respectful in behaviour and super helpful with general maintenance tips and advice. Keep up the great work guys."
